Block Therapy – FULL
No Slots Available
Block Therapy is a MFR method which delivers a huge bang for your buck! It is developed around 3 principles. The first component is the use of the Block Buddy as tool of choice for soft tissue compression. It is the same density as bone, the soft tissue can’t recognize bone from block, making it very safe. Secondly, education of proper posture so we can reduce strain on our structural system, which otherwise leads to pain. Thirdly, diaphragmatic breathing is practiced throughout, to optimally fuel all of our cells.
Some of the fascial accumulations we want to treat, impede flow of circulation. When the circulation system is working poorly, not only are some of our tissues starving of proper oxygen nutrition, but also the opportunity to move waste out of the cells, essentially our bodies can become full of garbage. Since every class begins with abdomen on block to stimulate deep diaphragmatic breathing, many participants experience improvements in digestion, and elimination functions. Another benefit is assisting the body to move waste out of the body, some can experience losing inches over prolonged practice.
SELF magazine (Nov. 2018) mentions Mobility / Myofascial Release devices as #14 of fitness trends for 2019, moving up from #20 in 2017. Fascia is a tissue in our body that researchers have only begun to understand in the last 20 years thanks to the advances in technology. The result is a self care method of tissue treatment called Myofascial Release. It is a method using weight or pressure against a device to compress soft tissue into melting adhesions or releasing restrictions, much like a massage therapist does manually.
