Bronze Cross: (18-20 hours) Designed for Bronze Medallion recipients who seek the challenge of advanced aquatic Lifesaving, including the fundamentals of safe supervision of aquatic facilities; Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for the National Lifeguard award- The longest standing Lifeguard certification in Canada. This course is lead by a certified Lifesaving Instructor/examiner, who works with candidates to achieve success in all areas, including physical standards such as a timed 400 meter endurance swim, and a final scenario exam.
Prerequisites: Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid certifications (need not be current).
Next Steps: Standard First Aid CPR-C, National Lifeguard Award 16+ yrs, Lifesaving Instructor Award 16+ yrs.
Note: The Bronze cross certification is a sufficient prerequisite for candidates who additionally wish to pursue their Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification.
